Keeping Your Recreational Vehicle, RV, Motor Home On the Road
A Motor Home offers yet another way of exploring our beautiful country. They come in all levels of comfort and floor plans but the rest of the vehicle is not so different than a pick up truck. Many of the features which make them mobile are much the same. DFM Auto Repair can both service and repair your motor home – arriving at the result your Recreational Vehicle deserves and you desire. When you start the all-important time away from home in your RV, we both want the same thing- trouble free driving. Neither one of us want vacation photos from the inside of another repair shop.
We have listed some of the services or maintenance, which may be needed to keep your RV, Motor Home, or Recreational Vehicle in top running condition, so you too can be out exploring our roadways, in reliable transportation.

Factory Services Scheduled at specify mileage
At DFM Auto Repair, we’re committed to the safety and reliability of your Recreational Vehicle. Our Service Writers, Bruce and Bonnie, can recommend the right scheduled services to help prolong the life of your Motor Home and help prevent costly repairs in the future. Your Recreational Vehicle is one of your largest investments…so let us help you protect it. When performed in conjunction with our Preflight oil change which includes most inspections that are recommended – plus some, we add only what is not already done during these services, thus saving you money.
Contrary to what your dealer will tell you, you do not need to return to them for this service to keep your warranty in effect. Actually, unless it is a warranty repair, you don’t need to return to the dealer for service or repair.
A/C – Air Conditioning Service
Noise or Leak locations determined and repaired. Leaks and noises never become less or go away. Addressing the underlying issue and repairing, keeps your RV reliable and worry free.
Fluid Changes or Flushes
Your engine oil is not the only fluid which needs to be kept fresh. Don’t forget the other vital fluids. For example, Antifreeze can become corrosive if left unattended too long, thus damaging or prematurely aging other components of your cooling system , Brake Fluid can damage brake components if too much moisture is absorbed. Transmission Fluid, Power Steering Fluid, Differential Fluid, Transfer Case Fluid and Clutch Fluid are the life blood of each of the respective systems in your RV. If allowed to break down beyond their usefulness premature issues can result. Most fluids have a life expectancy which varies by manufacturer and model. Our service writers, Bruce and Bonnie, can look up the recommendations of your vehicle and advise you.
Timing Belt Replacement
Following your manufacturer’s scheduled replacement interval (check your owners manual for specific mileage requirements). Having your timing belt replaced in the specified timeframe can save you from costly engine repairs and the inconvenience of having your RV down for an extended period of time. A little maintenance can save you a big headache!
